We thought we saw a void in the way people organized their lives in our rapidly changing modern world. Most people organize their lives on the internet either through past and current friendships or through work relationships. These are tremendously popular social networks and they should be because they serve the wonderful purpose of keeping relationships alive and strong. We also thought that with so many local newspapers struggling and in a lot of cases becoming part of larger regional newspapers, that our small towns were losing their individuality. This erosion of power of the local newspaper to help hold a town together, gave us the idea that maybe there was room for us to organize our lives around our area, our town, and Yes, our Zip Code! So we tried to think of a way that the internet could be used to maintain those local ties to each other. Essentially, we wanted a place where people could go to see what was going on in their town at the speed of the internet. We wanted to encourage everybody to post all the information about their town that they thought was helpful, fun and interesting. ZipCodeedo.com is what we came up with to meet those needs. We really want to encourage a strong information flow so Registration is Free and Posting is Free. We would like people to set up Running Clubs, Book Clubs, Wine Clubs or almost any other club through ZipCodeedo.com. We hope local business owners will use this forum to let people in the community know all about their business, let people know when you have a sale or anything else that customers will find interesting. We want to provide this avenue at either no cost or a low cost. We would like local schools and churches to make announcements. We hope the town puts links to ZipCodeedo.com to encourage business and allow newcomers to the area to find out what this town is all about. We even have a spot for Garage Sales!
We wanted to have a place for people to go to see what was going on in their town or a nearby town. We wanted to provide a place for people to click on and use as a resource to find out what other people in their area were doing for fun. What were others in your town doing to solve a problem? Where is the new or old fun spot to eat or hear music? We hope that after some time that people who are moving into a new area could use ZipCodeedo.com as a resource to find the best local Pediatrician or Dentist or which restaurants can handle a family with young children? That's why when a User enters an event or store or church or whatever they want to post, they can easily show it in the Zip Codes within the nearest 15 miles. This way you won't see information from the other side of the state.
